This morning… awesome day! This afternoon… stunk…
Last night, the tortilla kept me up till 1AM… boy, she just never stops over AIM! hehehe… well, after that, she FINALLY went to bed…. ahh, free time for me, right? Well, instead, I decided to contact a web design firm I had contacted back in February. I spoke with the owner from 1AM - 4AM…. and guess what? I got the job! I’m doing contract based work for a Plano-based web design firm! My long-time dream has come true! woo hoo! I’ll stick to Target, but that just made me really happy!
So I’ve been pretty psyched about that all day. I even went to Best Buy to celebrate! Didn’t buy anything.. just looked around.
K, so why was my afternoon so awful? Well, mainly one thing. The community web site for my development that me and another guy have been working on for over 3 years is now being forced to shut down by the board of the association! Now keep in mind that this was the SAME board that three years ago BEGGED us to start a community web site. So we took up the challenge and did it. Now, the site is so popular among the residents that the HOA board wants to shut it down! “Too many people are expressing their opinions about actions taken in the development… It’s hindering us.” Yet three years ago, they were saying that NOT ENOUGH people were involved with the development.
This just bugs the heck out of me. Why would they do something like this? Change their mind all of a sudden? And force us to take down the site within a week??? 75% of the 1000 residents use this site DAILY! If the board takes down the site, they’re going to see 3,000 (750 households * 4 people per house average) angry residents knocking at their door. WE WILL NOT let them get away with this.
That’s why we’re going to fight this. I just sent the board a LONG, DETAILED email about why the site should stay up. If that doesn’t work, we’ll appeal to the residents. This is just awful.
Well, enough ranting. Going to eat dinner… ttyl y’all! Ohh… there are 83 new quotes in the random quote thing on the home page.
UPDATE: This just made my day! David Liu (a friend of mine who will be a senior in Plano next year) made this video called “A Real Nerd.” It’s absolutely hilarious! Watch it!

well, i’m sadly saddened by the lack of comments! i’d begin, but my comment is basically the comment that while david’s movie thing was good from the technical point of view, i did not enjoy the story line. e for effort.
lol… Dave is a hilarious person! Everyone should meet him… he’s just funny.
