I’ve decided something.. Apple is such a tease. Many of y’all know I’ve been saving up for a laptop for a while now, so I can have a second computer to program and such away from my dorm room. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to get a 12″ Powerbook, but I was holding off for a long time thinking that new Powerbooks may come out soon..

Well, I waited for a month, and no new Powerbooks came out. But what happened in this month? Apple lowered prices… twice… The first one was a simple price adjustment. They lowered the price of the 12″ Powerbook from $1799 to $1599 (with the student discount)! That was a major price drop, and I was starting to find it very difficult to wait. Well, that’s not all folks. Guess what happened on Saturday? Apple lowered prices again for students! The student price for the powerbook dropped to $1399! Plus, since Maria was wanting to buy an iPod, if we purchased both together, we could get a $200 rebate.

It was too hard, and I realized any new powerbooks that will come out in the coming weeks would be more expensive than these. So on Monday, I picked up Maria and we bought our stuff at the Apple Store. For me, a 12″ Powerbook with a combo drive. For Maria, a 10GB iPod. It felt so cool!

Maria, however, decided to be ultra-geeky and brought her camera along to document my purchase. From when I was in the car to when I was walking to the Apple Store to when I was in the Apple Store…. well, after the first picture she took in the store, one of the employees asked her to not take pictures… hahahaha!

She’s going to post those pictures soon.. uggh.. but oh well. She even forced me to document the opening of the Powerbook box. UPDATE: The pics Maria took..

Well, I’m really glad with my purchase. It’s a very nice computer… it’s definitely going to be a great companion.

So between then and now, it’s been work.. but Maria and I saw a play (Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat) at the Plano Repertory Theatre. It was a really interesting play since it not only told a biblical story, but also incorporated musical and comedic aspects. Definitely a must see if you can go… Tickets are $6 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

You’ve got a month left… go play.. be merry.. paint the town colors… surf the web till you can’t anymore.. do whatever floats your boat… because in a month, it’s back to school! So enjoy the remaining days…
