Best Buy Frisco at 5:30 AM!

Wow, call me crazy… or call everyone else crazy. I went to Best Buy in Frisco at 5:30 AM thinking that I’d beat the rush. Instead, I was part of the rush. There was not an empty parking spot in that shopping center. Now that’s pathetic.

I went to buy some DVDs: 24 seasons 2 and 3, Arrested Development seasons 1 and 2, and Seinfeld seasons 1 - 2. Great deals. But a VERY long line. The line weaved around the entire perimeter of the store. It passed through every isle. I think I saw every single dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, coffee maker, vacuum cleaner, car radio, plasma TV, and DVD player that Best Buy sells. But that’s not enough… they had people walking the lines trying to sell you xbox controllers, packs of batteries, software, etc. I felt like I was in India. Fortunately, the line was only about 45 minutes long.

No mad rushes though. Everyone was pretty civilized. Thank goodness.

This was the first time I’ve ever shopped during Black Friday, and I think it will be my last time. I used to work every Black Friday at SuperTarget for 3 or 4 years, and I guess it never seems so bad when you’re selling the stuff. But I now know why every guest was grumpy at Target during the holidays.

Holiday spirit? Shopping for gifts? I have one word for all of these people… amazon.com.

  1. Dude, I spent Black Friday washing/waxing the car at the behest of my dad. I did NOT set foot into a SINGLE store all day. That sucked.

Anyhow, I hope you had fun. And I can see that you still are, judging from all the theme switching you’ve been doing. Let’s go do something cool before I do something else rash, like graduate.
