Beautiful Volkswagen manufacturing plant

Even if you don’t like cars, take a look at this photo tour of a VW plant in Dresden. This plant handbuilds the VW Phaeton, a $70,000 luxury car that’s full of innovation. The plant itself is gorgeous. It’s a work of art. Look at the assembly line… the wood floor is cleaner than a hospital.
VW (and Audi) is a true leader in industrial design. In fact, so is Mercedes and BMW. The germans are amazing at making beautiful things. Why can’t Americans put more focus into the design of the products? The only large American companies that do care about design, in my opinion, are Apple and TiVo (and Sony, even though they’re technically not American).
