Music's dirty little secret? AllofMp3.com

March 18th, 2006 2 comments

I stumbled upon this really cool music download site, allofmp3.com. It’s a russian website that sells legal music to everyone all over the world. The music is licensed from the russian copyright holders (aka the equivalent of the RIAA), so it’s perfectly legal. What’s so great about the site? They have an amazing selection, and albums cost only about $1 each… let me restate that: each ALBUM (ie. multiple songs) cost about $1 each. They also have a nifty program that allows you to download music much easier called “allTunes.” Oh, and the music isn’t locked down or protected, which means you can play it on anything!
I have been using the site for a few days, and I absolutely love it. Check it out.

Now, let me listen to All American Rejects – Dirty Little Secret.

MPAA slammed at SXSW

Guess what?  A panel on “Darknets” at SXSW turned into a 1 hour bash-a-thon towards one of the panelists, an MPAA representative.  Listen to the mp3 here.  Here’s a person’s account of the scene.  Man, now the $300 ticket seems worth it!

Flashback to 1990….

March 1st, 2006 No comments

My parents gave me a Nintendo in 1990.  It was one of those gifts I never got tired of.  I found this article, which I found absolutely fascinating.  It discusses the impact of the NES, the games, and everything else you want to know.  Good read.
