It’s official. My med school career has just come to a screeching halt…. I got a Wii!

Vikas and I stood in line (at the garden center of Wally World) for this new console starting at 6 PM. The line had 8 people originally, but within an hour, it was 20 peeps long. Surprisingly, Wal-Mart was only expecting 20 Wiis to arrive on the truck. Anyway, around 8 PM, we were moved to layaway so that everyone in the store could gawk and say, “What are you all waiting for?”

Jabbar and his girlfriend, Ashley, both came to join us in line. We kept ourselves busy by watching “Why Killed the Electric Car?” (a great documentary, btw), and “30 Rock” (hilarious new sitcom on NBC).

The launch was uneventful. The managers had everything under control. We all quietly paid for our consoles and left.

The fun part was when we went home to Jabbar’s place and unboxed the Wii. Boy, did that feel like an Apple moment.. the packaging was very well done. Kudos to Nintendo.

We played “Wii Sports” till 3 AM last night, and now my arm is sore from all of the ball hitting. So much fun!

If you’re even remotely interested in gaming, I’d highly recommend the Nintendo Wii!
