Coke sues Coke Zero!

Here are a few amusing commercials advertising my favorite soft drink. Imagine a company suing itself? By the way, the above ad features a real lawyer who is being filmed via hidden camera.

Today’s comic on PHD Comics was absolutely hilarious. Even though it’s targeted towards seminars, it really applies to med school lectures!

Engadget interviews the 'fake' Steve Jobs

April 1st, 2007 No comments

Jobs iPhone

Engadget today posted a ‘fake’ interview of Steve Jobs. It’s one of the most hilarious things I’ve read in a long time. Here’s a quote from the interview:

I was really into NeXT, whatever happened with that?

Well, we had some issues around pricing. Like, we figured out what the product should cost, and then we multiplied that by four and set our prices that way. Turns out we were over-overpricing. When I returned to Apple we figured out how to overprice correctly. About 50% more than the reasonable price is about what people are wiling to pay to get a product that makes them cooler than everyone else. So now instedad of over-overpricing, we’re just overpricing. And as our results indicate, it’s working.

You can read the full, fake interview here. Oh, and Happy April Fools’ Day!

A word from the wise

March 15th, 2007 1 comment

This quote is taken out of my medical school neuroscience textbook by John Nolte:

At the present time the nature of the little person within the CNS (central nervous system) who pulls the strings when we decide to move is not entirely clear.

I never realized that modern science was on a scavenger hunt to find little people in our brains! This is a big realization… now it all makes sense to me! It’s just like “Where’s Waldo?“! We’re looking for the tiny, little red guy in the crowd!

*end sarcasm*

A little doctor humor

February 6th, 2007 No comments

Laughing Doctor

From my “doctor jokes” calendar:

“The American diet is slowly killing us. Red meat contributes to heart disease. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all, and we all have, or will, eat it. Would anyone care to guess what food causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?”

One man in the front row nodding knowingly. “Yes?” the professor asked, promting the man to speak aloud.

“Wedding cake.”
