Back from Bangkok

View of the River from the Oriental Hotel

I went to Bangkok for a few days with my grandparents.  That city was absolutely amazing.. I never realized Bangkok had such a clean feel to it:  it felt like Singapore, without the police force.

I spent a couple days sightseeing, and in the process, I saw Buddha in every form possible.. laughing buddha, sitting buddha, standing buddha, relaxed buddha, etc. I also saw a really cool Thai play, which was based on a Hindu legend.

The rest of the time was spent shopping… Thailand is a great place to shop, I must say.

We stayed at the Conrad Hilton in Bangkok; it is this amazing, new five star hotel.  If you go to Thailand ever, you must check this hotel out.

Lots and lots of pictures

The Journey Begins..

India Flag

So at 9:20 AM on Monday, my journey to India begins.  I am going the Atlantic route this time, which is a change from the usual (and long) Pacific route.

29May – Monday @ 9:20 AM
Dallas/Fort Worth – LaGuardia Airport in New York (3 hours 20 minutes)

29May – Monday @ 6:45 PM
JFK Airport in New York – London (7 hours 10 minutes)

30May – Tuesday @ 2:05 PM
London – Bangalore (9 hours 55 minutes)

So only 3 stops this time! That’s way better than the Pacific route.  It will also be my first time in Europe.. can’t wait to catch the British accents in the airport.

I’ll update regularly with my trip status while I’m in India.  Adios!
