I'm also a huge soda addict. I don't want to drink sodas all the time; I just associate drinking a soda as taking a break from whatever it is I'm doing. I still drink soda at work, but not buying sodas for my home has probably cut down my consumption by 60%. The problem with cutting out sodas at work is I'll just default to coffee or junk food, which I feel isn't an improvement.

I don't think you can justify Toyota's actions by saying that's what other companies do. This problem is the result of their massively fast growth; a company one controlled by family pride has been taken over by greed.

On the bright side, I think Mr Toyoda has what it takes to get the company back on track.

I don't want Toyota to become like the old GM.

That's a pretty awesome setup. $800k seems a little steep, but if they can get that cost down it would be badass. It seems like there could be some pretty interesting security issues though. I could totally see people out in the middle of nowhere for "medical" purposes.

I would be curious how expensive/dangerous it is to dispose of. I also wonder what type of explosion/fire hazard these boxes might be?

I would like to think that if we cut down on junk food and be outside quite a bit more, we might end up like the athletes in the Winter Olympics. XD

You go TOYOTA!!!

I like how we all fell into the stupid trap...don't blame Toyota for doing what American companies have been doing for years and covering up their traps. You can't play with the Big Boys unless you learn their ways...that's all Toyota did!

My own opinion is that the ONLY thing that will bring a company down is GREED!!! POWER AND MONEY CORRUPT ABSOLUTELY!!

It's the thing that brought down Enron, GM, Ford, Toyota...next will be everyone's favorite airline Southwest followed by the next Toyota of the skies...Lufthansa...Apple (SJ is a goner and with that falls the company, and it can already be seen in the iPad).

Don't pretend like you're not going to buy a Toyota after this, and if you say...well I'm going to buy a Honda instead...read this: http://www.csmonitor.com/Money/2010/0210/Honda-recall-airbags-Recall-expands-to-another-438-000-vehicles

They're all the same and it's because of us: we want the best, but don't want to pay for it or live with the consequences of the best...leading to corruption through money and power. I love America, but stop putting blind-folds on and understand that no one is perfect (e.g. Tiger Woods), and when enough money/power is flashed in your face, you will cave just like everyone else. No matter how perfect everything "thinks" you are.

And I'm done my rant :)

I'm partial to Flickr because of its simple UI. What are the advantages of smugmug over Flickr? I think they both provide the same types of service...I'd say stick with Flickr. :)
